2 people in critical condition after rollover crash in Jamaica Plain

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two of the six people injured in a two-car crash on the Arborway in Jamaica Plain remained in critical condition Saturday.

Mass. State Police say preliminary reports indicate an SUV driven by an 18-year-old carrying three other passengers, ages 13, 14, and 15, rolled over the center line on the Arborway at about 2 p.m. and hit a pickup truck carrying two adults in the opposite lane. All six victims were transported to Boston hospitals.

Officials say the 14-year-old passenger in the SUV and the driver of the pickup remained in critical condition. Four others injured in the crash were in stable condition Friday night.

Sources tell FOX 25 the four teens all attended Boston Latin Academy.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office says investigators are working to determine what caused the teen driver to lose control of the SUV.

Commuters were asked to avoid the area during their Friday night commute as the Arborway and the Casey Overpass were shut down. All roads were reopened by Friday night.

Mass. State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 617-698-5840.
