Northeast Philly Family Seeks Return Of Missing Rare Puppy

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A family is seeking the return of a dog they believe was picked up and not returned after getting away from their Philadelphia home.

Layla, a fawn female Thai ridgeback from Thailand, went missing on May 15.

The dog's family says Layla was posted for sale on the website Craigslist, but then the posting disappeared. They believed they have the only Thai ridgeback puppies in the area, as it's a rare breed of dog.

Layla turned 3 years old this month and was partner to a younger disabled dog. That puppy's health is now deteriorating quickly, family says.

The case has been reported to the Philadelphia Police Dept.'s 15th District.

The family thought Layla may have been the "hairless fox" that was spotted roaming parts of lower Bucks County last month.

The family has set up a "Help Bring Layla Home" Facebook page, which you can visit by clicking here.
