Police: NH man led officer on brief chase before surrendering
HUDSON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 51-year-old New Hampshire man is facing several charges after he allegedly led an officer on a brief chase to a Hudson residence where he resisted arrest and then surrendered a short time later.
Robert Drake, of Hudson, is charged with disobeying a police officer, resisting arrest or detention, traffic control device violations, and uninspected motor vehicle.
An officer on traffic duty attempted to stop Drake on Webster Street near Elam Avenue because he had allegedly gone against the do not enter signs; however, when the officer attempted to wave Drake down, he did not stop.
The officer got into his car and pursued Drake for about a quarter mile to a home on Webster Street. The officer attempted to detain Drake who was able to break free and enter his home; however, Drake surrendered a short time later.
Drake was able to make the $2,500 person recognizance bail and will appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua at a later date.
