Man taken to hospital after SUV lands on Quincy tracks
QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 48-year-old man was taken to the hospital after his SUV landed on the commuter rail tracks in Quincy Monday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the man either fell asleep or blacked out while driving near the intersection of Newport Avenue and Wilson Avenue. He allegedly drove into oncoming traffic, up an embankment, and through an MBTA chain link fence before landing right-side up on the tracks.
The man was taken to Quincy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Rail services from Middleboro to Scituate were affected until a crane put the SUV back on the road.
The tracks are part of the Old Colony and Greenbush commuter rail lines.
