Utica Eisenhower JV football team items stolen during away game at Chippewa Valley

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

After smack talk and a few touchdowns, the Big Reds versus the Eagles, on September 12th, something was wrong.

The visiting Utica Eisenhower JV football players returned to the locker room at Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township only to find their phones, clothing, shoes, iPods, equipment, cash -- gone.

Whatever the thieves could grab during a 2-hour rain-delayed game, about $8,000 worth of stuff.

Some parents claim there is not enough security at Chippewa Valley High School. So who is responsible for the theft?

Chippewa Valley Director of Community relations, Diane Blain talked to Fox 2's Erica Erickson and told her the following:

Blain says, "They feel very bad for the kids and they're working with police to try and recover the stolen property"

She says, "They most definitely have security on site at all times."

She says, "Right now they have no way of knowing who is responsible,  and are putting together a list of stolen items"

Blain also says, "She does not know if this theft falls under insurance or not, but is hoping the items will be recovered."
