Temps to slide to mid to lower 60s Wednesday evening

Posted: Updated:

It was a chilly start this morning with some areas reporting low to mid-30s for temperatures! Wall to wall sunshine is allowing for temps to soar into the upper 60s to low 70s this afternoon. Winds are a bit lighter, so it feels really nice out! Hopefully you get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather today!

The Red Sox play the Orioles at 7:10 tonight under clear skies. The sun sets at 6:48 this evening so it'll get dark in a jif. Temperatures will slide from the mid to lower 60s. A sweatshirt or jacket will be handy tonight. Winds will run 5-10 mph from the S/SW. If you get the chance, look over right field and you'll spot the Full "Harvest" Moon.

The Full "Harvest" Moon is the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox which is this Sunday at 4:44PM. However the feel of fall will not be with us the last few days of summer! We'll see gradual warming the rest of the week. Tomorrow morning will not be as cold as recent mornings. However, a jacket may still be needed at the bus stop for temps in the 40s and 50s. Once again, sunny skies and dry weather will prevail and boost highs into the upper 70s Thursday afternoon. The above average highs will continue Friday with peaks around 78 degrees. We'll stick with mostly sunny skies and just a few more Friday clouds.

The next chance of rain is looking like late in the weekend as a cold front will approach the area. We'll see more clouds on Saturday, but the highest threat of showers will come on Sunday. We'll have to watch a developing storm to our south Monday-Wednesday as it might bring us a good slug of rain and strong winds. At this time, there is quite a bit of discrepancy whether high pressure will hold it at bay or not as it rides up the east coast. Something we'll continue to watch through the week!
