Toy gun student allowed back to school, will have record

Gage, the 9-year-old who was suspended indefinitely for using a toy in the manner of a gun and saying "Bang, bang," is now allowed to return to school on Monday but Montessori Academy is marking the incident on his permanent record saying he caused a violent act.

Gage's parents are upset over the punishment especially since they say he has had no history of violence or bullying, and don't believe the incident that got him suspended even happened in the first place.

Gage brought a toy to a before-school latchkey session to show his friends. A teacher says he pointed the toy, which resembles a gun, at his friend and said "Bang, bang." Gage and his friends insist this did not happen.

Gage says his friend asked to see the toy and while he was handing the toy to his friend, he tapped him on the shoulder with it. Gage explained the situation to Fox 2's Ron Savage. You can see that video by clicking here.
