Woman, 19, struck by car, killed in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police say a 19-year-old woman has been struck and killed by a car in Cambridge.

Mary Barrios, of Cambridge and formerly of Pennsylvania, was hit by a car driven by a 38-year-old Chelsea man at about 7:40 p.m. Monday on Alewife Brook Parkway, near a shopping mall and the Alewife Station subway and bus terminal.

Barrios was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

The death remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
