More than $7,000 in equipment stolen from New Bedford nonprofit

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – More than $7,000 worth of equipment was stolen from a New Bedford nonprofit.

According to SouthCoastToday.com, 26 netbooks, an iPad and a 55-inch smart TV were taken over the weekend from the group Youth Build. Someone smashed the building's windows and cut the lock to the storage locker.

YouthBuild is part of a national network of schools for under-performing high school students.

The newspaper reports the heist was likely an inside job.

The theft is under investigation by Officer Jarrod Gracia, who may be reached at 508-991-6340.
