New details from key witness account revealed during Wallace bail hearing

FALL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) - The key witness in the case against Aaron Hernandez and the ex-Patriot's so-called "right-hand man" has changed his account of the night.

Prosecutors speaking during the bail hearing for Ernest Wallace said co-defendant Carlos Ortiz is now claiming only Aaron Hernandez exited the car at the scene of Odin Lloyd's murder. Ortiz, who is facing a weapons charge in Lloyd's June 17 shooting death, originally said both Hernandez and Wallace exited the car.

While making their case for high bail Thursday, prosecutors claimed Wallace told Hernandez's cousin, Tanya Singleton, details of the murder. Singleton was jailed for refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating Odin Lloyd's murder.

Prosecutors also claimed Wallace was an angel dust user with a record dating back to 1988. They further allege Wallace engaged in the sale of drugs with a Bristol, Conn. man and he was observed carrying a gun after an altercation in May 2013 while in Providence, R.I. with Hernandez.

Investigators allege a portion of a text message conversation between Hernandez and Lloyd took place on Wallace's phone.

"What is the evidence that Mr. Hernandez committed a murder?" asked Wallace's defense, claiming their client should have lower bail because he was indicted on an accessory to murder charge, not murder.

The judge ruled Wallace should continue to be held on $500,000 bail.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in the case.
