Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – There's outrage over an arbitrator's decision to award members of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association a hefty raise.

According to the Boston Herald, the decision will be unsealed Friday and gives officers a nearly 25 percent pay hike over six years. The newspaper says that could add up to more than $125 million.

Several city councilors told the newspaper Boston Mayor Tom Menino failed to stop this from happening. Menino's spokeswoman declined to say whether the mayor will accept the award or urge the council to renegotiate.

City Council President Stephen Murphy is calling for a hearing next week to grill the city's chief labor negotiators on the contract.
