MassDOT launches notification system for bridge, transit, and traffic updates

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Mass. Dept. of Transportation is launching a new notification system which would provide timely information by email to customers about upcoming events and service changes for major bridge and transit projects along with Boston area interstate highway planned overnight lane and ramp closures.

Via the Customer Notification System, customers can subscribe to receive alerts by email by visiting https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/MADOT/subscriber/new.

When signing up for the service, customers can also choose to receive traffic and travel advisories for I-90 and I-93 in the Boston metro area. Additionally, the service will also provide information regarding various MBTA stops and stations.

"We are committed to improving customer service and providing useful information in a simple to receive and timely manner," said MassDOT Secretary & CEO Richard A. Davey. "Just as the new MBTA T-Alerts system allows T riders to sign up and receive alerts about service issues, we are moving to provide roadway users and those interested in major projects with the same kinds of options."

The listings on the new notification system, which was launched Tuesday, will be expanded in the coming months.
