'Simpsons' character to be killed off, won't see end of season

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) – Say it ain't so?! A character on "The Simpsons" will be killed off at some point during its 25th season.

The show's executive producer Al Jean broke the news during an interview with the Toronto Sun.

"I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is," Jean told the newspaper.

However, that tidbit of information is not necessarily very helpful seeing as there have been 25 Emmy winners for "The Simpsons" so far, reports the New York Post.

"The Simpsons," a FOX television show, kicked off its 25th season Sunday.
