SOUTHFIELD, Mich (WJBK) -- The eyes of football fans across the country could soon be on Paralee Boyd Salon in Southfield. Owner Dana White hopes to win Intuit's "Small Business, Big Game" competition.
Small businesses from across the country entered the online challenge, and move on in the competition based on votes. White's salon, which has only been open for ten months, has already won enough support to make it to round two. To enter, she had to submit a video and brief description of what makes her business unique. "I think we'll win because we're open seven days a week, no appointment necessary, walk-in only-- so that makes us different," said White.
The voting starts fresh each round, so even if you've already voted your support is still needed. Paralee Boyd Salon is up against about a hundred other small businesses this round. The field will then be narrowed down to 20 semi-finalists and eventually 4 finalists. The grand prize is an ad during a half-time commercial break in Super Bowl XLVIII, which airs February 2nd, 2014 on Fox 2.
Paralee Boyd Salon offers Dominican Blow Out services. It's located at 29555 Northwestern Highway in Southfield. If you'd like to see the salon win a commercial in the Big Game visit Paralee's website here to vote.
