BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 17-year-old girl has been cited in connection with a crash that left a couple and their young child injured Sunday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Dartmouth Street and Columbus Avenue at about 3:16 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said the teen veered off the road, struck the family and also hit a light pole and a building.

The mother of the child, who was in her 30s, suffered a head and neck injury. She is in serious condition at Beth Israel Hospital.

The father of the child, also in his 30s, suffered head and leg injuries. He is listed in serious condition at Tufts Medical Center.

The 1-year-old child was transported to Tufts Medical Center for evaluation and has since been released to family.

The driver told police she swerved to avoid a taxi, but witnesses say it appeared she was speeding. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boston Police Department at 617-343-4200.
