DETROIT (WJBK) -

The man who says he was assaulted by former NFL wide receiver Braylon Edwards outside a Detroit club is talking to FOX 2.

Ken Bryant says he started recording on his cell phone when Edwards got into an impromptu foot race outside the Exodus Lounge in Greektown Saturday night. After seeing this, Bryant says Edwards began yelling at him and threatening him to hand over his phone. When Bryant refused and walked away, surveillance video obtained by TMZ shows Edwards grabbing Bryant's ankles and flipping him on his face.

Bryant says Edwards and some friends then held him on the ground.

"He's very strong," said Bryant. "I actually felt almost like a girl in a domestic violence situation." Click the video player to hear more from Bryant.

Edwards, who starred at the University of Michigan, from 2001-04, denied the wrongdoing on Twitter, posting: "The reports are blasphemy. Was joking with friends and a guy was filming us. I asked him to delete it, he said no. He wasn't harmed at all."

A rep for Edwards tells TMZ Bryant concocted the story in a shameless attempt to "take Braylon's money."

So far, there is no word on any impending lawsuits.

Edwards spent eight seasons in the NFL. He is not currently on an NFL roster.
