Police Identify And Arrest Suspect In Philly Beating Of Blind Man

Police have arrested the person who they say assaulted a blind man on a Northwestern Philadelphia street earlier this month. The suspect Mustafa Guyton, was arrested this morning, and is being interviewed by police.

Officials say a surveillance camera on a Germantown street corner captured video of the Oct. 2 aggravated assault on the 33-year-old man.

Police say the man was walking east on a street just after noon when Guyton approached and struck him, knocking him to the ground.

Detectives said the suspect then proceeded "to kick and stomp" the victim, injuring his face and head "as he lay helpless on the ground."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
