NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

More than 130,000 people are expected to make their way through the Jacob Javits Center for this year's New York Comic Con.

The convention of all things comics and pop art features people in costumes and stars of some of the biggest movies and shows.

"We're throwing a party for really cool people," said Lance Festerman, Global VP, Reed Pop.

Twenty million dollars is forecasted to be spent at the convention that includes 400 events spread over four days.

Among the panels taking place is a discussion with Astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson.

He'll discuss the new 13-part docu-series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

Many of the panels are being live streamed NewYorkComicCon.com

A robot made of artificial human organs and limbs is strutting its stuff on Friday.

The robot has about 60 to 70 percent of the function of a human. It stands six-and-a-half feet tall and can step, sit and stand with the help of a Rex walking machine that's used by people who've lost the ability to walk due to a spinal injury.

It also has a functioning heart that, using an electronic pump, beats and circulates artificial blood, which carries oxygen just like human blood. An artificial, implantable kidney, meanwhile, replaces the function of a modern-day dialysis unit.

The convention is sold out.

It is expected to have a $70M impact on New York City.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

All of us feel the same way about "cooties": Eww. At the Goddard School on the Upper West Side, a high-tech machine is keeping "cooties" out of the classroom. "This is the latest and then most effective sanitization method available today," says Bill Swan, the owner of the Goddard School. He purchased the ZONO Sanitech for his school about six months ago. The machine is the size of a double refrigerator and uses oxygen to kill viruses and bacteria.
