FBI, N.H. State Police continue search for missing 14-year-old

CONWAY, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Concerned classmates held a moment of silence for a missing New Hampshire teen at the Kennett High School football game Friday night.

The community joined together to raise awareness of about one of their own, 14-year-old Abigail Hernandez.

The FBI and New Hampshire officials continue to search for Hernandez, who was last seen Wednesday afternoon leaving Kennett High School in Conway, N.H.

At a press conference Friday afternoon, N.H. Senior Assistant District Attorney Jane Young said investigators continue to treat the case as a missing persons investigation.

"We are here for one reason, to do whatever we can to find Abby," said Young.

The FBI's Child Rapid Abduction Deployment team has been brought in to search for Hernandez. Young said authorities were searching by air, water and land for the girl.

"We're trying to put together a timeline of when she went missing, the day before she went missing. If anyone has any information, no matter how small, please provide it to us," said Young.

A FOX 25 photographer in New Hampshire said investigators set up a checkpoint near the teen's high school. They were seen stopping cars, handing out flyers, checking drivers' identification, and asking motorists if anyone saw anything.

Early in the probe, investigators said there was no evidence of an abduction and they did not suspect foul play.

The FBI also released a photo of Hernandez taken at school Wednesday.

Hernandez is described as five feet, four inches tall and weighs 118 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with colored stripes, black yoga pants and had a gray shoulder bag.

Anyone who may have seen Hernandez on Tuesday or Wednesday is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip at www.tips.fbi.gov.
