Boston school buses running on schedule Friday

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – School buses in Boston were running on schedule Friday morning, according to the Boston Public Schools Twitter account.

Earlier this week a wildcat strike stopped bus service in the city, stranding students at bus stops and leaving parents and law enforcement officials scrambling to get kids to class.

FOX 25 learned Wednesday night two union representatives were suspended without pay as a result of the strike. The bus company says more are under investigation.

The Boston Herald reported Mayor Tom Menino has asked for the strike instigators to be fired.

"These two individuals are just rabble rousers who cause trouble," Menino told the Herald. "For what they did, they should be punished."

The two were escorted out of the bus yard Thursday by police.

Veolia Transportation, the company that employs the drivers, said the disruption is over and drivers will stay on the job until a deal with the bus driver's union is reached.
