Clerk chases robbery suspect in Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man was arrested after police said he held up a Worcester convenience store on Sunday.

Police said they received a call that the Edgemere Mini Mart at 734 Grafton Street had been held up by a man who showed a note that said he had a gun at about 9 a.m.

When the man left the store, a clerk chased after the suspect. Police later found the man, identified as 34-year-old Michael McIntyre, at 12 Enid Street.

Police said they found two hypodermic needles, two orange pills, three orange capsule pills, and a white powdery substance in McIntyre's possession.

He was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness, possession of a class B substance, possession of a class E substance, disturbing the peace, disorderly person, and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned Tuesday.
