Posted: Updated:

QUINCY, Mass. ( – Authorities in the Quincy area are searching for two men accused of breaking into homes in North Quincy and Wollaston during the daytime.

Since early August, police said there have been seven break-ins, and in each instance, the scene has been almost identical. Residents have returned home to find their air conditioners pushed from a window and goods stolen from inside, reports The Patriots Ledger.

The first reported robbery occurred on Hamilton Street on Aug. 6. Similar robberies have been reported on Apthorp Street, Henry Street, Havilend Street, Royal Street, Rawson Road, and Bromfield Street.

A neighbor told police both suspects are white males. One was approximately 5'8" tall and wore a hooded sweatshirt and silver gym shorts. The other wore a black hat and dark shorts.

As a result of the break-ins, police have stepped up patrols in the area.

The police chief in Milton told the newspaper both daytime and nighttime house breaks are on the rise as well, and if the rate continues, the town will have almost twice as many in 2013 than previous years.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Quincy Police Dept. at 617-479-1212.
