DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

After a brief delay because of a power outage in Comerica Park in Detroit, the third game of the American League Championship Series has resumed.

The outage happened during the second inning of the afternoon game as the Tigers play host to the Boston Red Sox and lasted about 17 minutes.

So what caused the outage?

"One of the cables feeding somewhere else in the downtown area had a failure, and when that failed, the Comerica Park saw a voltage sag through the feeds to that. And then they had to get their equipment reset to put the lights back," explains Vince Dow, Vice President of Distribution for DTE Energy.

The Red Sox pulled ahead with a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series after the team's 1-0 win during Wednesday's game.
