Witness: Shooting death of Detroit girl, 16, was accident

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Two days after the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl, a man who was at the home where it happened is speaking out: "It don't even seem real but it is, but, you know, it's hurtful though. She was a good girl though, everybody was cool with her."

He did not want to be identified but says the victim and her friend got a hold of a gun and did not know a round was in one of the cylinder's chambers.

The man who was at the house when it happened was friends with both the victim and the shooter. He says he was inside cleaning when the shooting happened and now he regrets it.

"I wish I was up there to see what was going on, at least check on them, you know?"

Right now it's unclear if the 21-year-old man taken into custody after the shooting will face any charges.
