Reputed mafia capo's associates sentenced in robbery, kidnapping case

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two associates of alleged mob captain Mark Rossetti were sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to armed home invasion, robbery, kidnapping, and assault charges.

Yasmani Quezada, 33, of Revere, was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by three years of probation. Attorney General Martha Coakley's office says the sentence will run concurrent with a six to eight year prison sentence Quezada received in February on heroin trafficking charges. It will also run concurrent with the up to seven years he received in July 2012 after he and Rossetti were found guilty in connection to ordering a home break-in to steal heroin and money.

Marc Brown, 24, of East Boston, was sentenced to between 10 and 12 years in state prison followed by three years of probation.

Both men pleaded guilty in Suffolk Superior Court Tuesday.

The convictions of Quezada and Brown are the result of a 2009 investigation into organized crime in eastern Massachusetts. In October 2010, state officials announced the indictments of 31 people in connection to the criminal enterprise.

In 2011, FOX Undercover confirmed Mark Rossetti was used as an FBI informant. To read more from FOX Undercover's Mike Beaudet, visit: http://www.myfoxboston.com/category/233882/fox-undercover
