CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man and woman from Michigan have been charged with sex trafficking in connection with incidents involving underage girls.
Police said Melando Streety, 30, and Brayahna Tracey-Bushamie, 20, were each charged in Middlesex Superior Court with two counts of trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude and two counts of deriving support from a minor prostitute. Streety was also charged with five counts of rape.
The two are accused of bringing two young women from Michigan to Cambridge and forcing them to work as prostitutes.
Investigators said they would drop the girls off at hotels, give them cell phones and have them arrange sexual services for money through backpage.com. Streety and Tracey-Bushamie would then collect the money.
Investigators said that on one occasion, Streety raped the girls before clients arrived.
An investigation is ongoing. Streety was held without bail and Tracey-Bushamie was held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
