Police: Drug bust leads to officer-involved shooting in Barnstable

BARNSTABLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Barnstable say one person was shot after he attempted to drive at officers during a drug bust.

The incident happened at about 4:08 p.m. on Old Stage Road. Police said they tried to stop 34-year-old Scott Jean, of Marstons Mills, after officers saw him meeting with an Oxycodone supplier in Everett.

Police said Jean tried to flee and nearly ran over two officers. When officers tried to pull him over again a short time later, drove into a police cruiser and at another officer.

Police said a Barnstable detective fired one round at Jean and struck him in the arm.

Jean was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police said Jean was under investigation in connection with the sale of Oxycodone on Cape Cod.

Police said he will face numerous assault, motor vehicle and drug charges.
