Northeast Philadelphia -

Police say two men assaulted a man during an overnight robbery inside a 7-11 store in Northeast Philadelphia.

The incident happened early Friday morning on the 2900 block of Welsh Road where the two men came into the store at around 2:30a.m.

The first suspect wore a light colored mask over his face and pointed a gun at a 60-year-old store clerk then slugged him the hit him in the head with the gun. The man was then zip tied with his hands behind his back.

Both robbers then took cash from register, cigarettes, and opened all the drawers and cleaned other items from shelves. They reportedly spent 10 minutes in store then ran out.

The man spent 2 hours trying to free one wrist so he finally called 911 at 4:43a.m.

Although cut and swollen from being hit in head with gun , the victim didn't want to go to a hospital to be checked instead he was taken to Northeast Detectives for report.

Police tell us they are going through surveillance and hope to get more information about the identity of the suspects.
