Transit police search for suspect who stole from commuter in wheelchair

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Transit police are looking to identify a suspect who stole money out of a disabled person's wallet.

Investigators say a man stole $20 from a commuter in a wheelchair at the Downtown Crossing MBTA station. The theft happened at about 2 p.m. on Oct. 17.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with black and gray hair, standing about 5'8" tall, and weighing about 165 pounds. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a red t-shirt, black sweatshirt, jeans, and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050. Tips can be made anonymously by texting 973873 or by using the anonymous feature on the SeeSay app.
