Boy, 5, fighting leukemia will save San Francisco as Batkid

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Many little boys – and let's face it, big boys too - dream about being Batman. But for one five-year-old battling leukemia in San Francisco, the superhero is a source of strength.

When the Make-A-Wish Foundation asked Miles what he wished for, he said, "I want to be Batkid!"

The Bay-Area Make-A-Wish Foundation will transform San Francisco into Gotham City for a day on Nov. 15. Thousands of volunteers already signed up to help.

San Francisco's police chief will call upon the young crime-fighter that morning to rescue a damsel in distress. She'll be "tied up" across the Hyde Street cable car tracks in Nob Hill.

Miles will arrest The Puzzler for robbing a downtown vault and save the San Francisco Giant's mascot Lou Seal from Mr. Penguin in the middle of his lunch at Union Square's Burger Bar.

Mayor Ed Lee will thank Miles for his heroism at AT&T Park after a car chase through the city, in front of hundreds of thankful San Francisco residents.
