Judge grants Mihos's wife most of remaining assets

BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) - The judge overseeing the divorce case of former convenience store magnate and Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Christy Mihos and his wife has ruled that she should get the majority of the couple's remaining assets.

The Cape Cod Times reports Wednesday that the judge found in an order granting the divorce issued Oct. 15 that Mihos frittered away most of the couple's fortune.

According to Andrea Mihos's divorce attorney, her husband blew through $25 million since the sale of his convenience stores in 2009. The attorney claims the money was spent on two failed bids for governor and an addiction to hiring prostitutes.

The judge ruled that out of the remaining $4 million in assets, Christy Mihos receives $1.1 million and Andrea Mihos gets almost $2.9 million.

Their attorneys did not comment.
