Hollywood Shooting Leaves 1 Dead

Posted: Updated:

HOLLYWOOD (FOX 11/CNS) - Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of one man, and critical wounding of a second, in a party bus outside the Hollywood Palladium just before midnight, police said today.

Los Angeles police officer Sally Madera of the Media Relations Section said detectives would release no further information. "It's an ongoing investigation," Madera said.

Gunshots were fired at 11:45 p.m. Friday near Sunset Boulevard and El Centro Avenue, between Vine Street and the Hollywood (101) Freeway. That location is across the street from the Hollywood Palladium, said Sgt. Enrique Mendoza of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station.

When officers arrived, one of the men was down alongside a party bus and the other was a few feet away, Mendoza said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where the unidentified man died. The second victim is currently listed in critical condition.

Sunset Boulevard was closed much of the night between Gower Street and Argyle Avenue as police investigated the shooting.
