Tech Check: Dyle TV on the go

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

More people are watching television on the go these days and the portable kitchen counter television of old has been has been replaced. Even the watchman has been retired.

Now people can get totally free television on their mobile device. Many television stations can be viewed live on an iPad, even FOX 5 Atlanta, for free. That's right, no data charge.

It's called Dyle TV. It is a little receiver that connects to a smartphone or tablet through Wi-Fi. It allows users to watch programs live as they happen for iOS and Android users.

FOX 5 is among the stations in the Atlanta area broadcasting a special signal that you can receive on a mobile device through the free Dyle app. The receiver is made by Audiovox and costs $99. It can be ordered through Amazon.

One of the positive things about Dyle is that you can watch it while in a moving car. That's something that can't be done with the regular digital broadcast signal.
