They call it an art project, but the hundred mules traveling from the Owens Valley to Los Angeles are also intended to commemorate the hundred years since the opening of the LA Aqueduct.
The mule-train project is sponsored by the LA Metabolic Studio, and has drawn curious glances from passerby for about three weeks since the mules left the Owens Valley on October 18th.
The intent of the mule train is to bring attention to where LA's water comes from, and the part the aqueduct plays in keeping the city alive.
The end of the 240 mile journey closed a few roads in the Glendale and Burbank areas this morning, as the train passed along the area from Brand Park to the LA Equestrian Center in Burbank.
