Joy Lim Nakrin joined the FOX25 News team in November 2013. She comes to FOX25 from KSTP-TV, the ABC affiliate in Minneapolis where she was a weekend anchor/reporter.
While in Minneapolis, Nakrin was on the anchor desk for breaking news, courtroom verdicts, election coverage, and extreme weather. Her day as a reporter could be as varied as sitting down with Minnesota's first female United States Senator to reporting live from devastating flash floods in northeastern Minnesota.
A versatile journalist, Nakrin is a member of both the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar and frequently draws on her legal background while covering news, court cases and crime.
Nakrin has family in Massachusetts and is thrilled to be back in New England. She looks forward to covering breaking news and newsmakers here.
Prior to joining KSTP-TV, Joy spent two years as a morning anchor, reporter and producer at WTIC-TV in Hartford, Connecticut. Before that, she was an anchor/reporter for ESPN STAR Sports, also known as "ESPN Asia."
Nakrin is active in the community and helped launch an outreach program for Hmong immigrants while living in the Twin Cities.
Before earning her Juris Doctorate from Duke University School of Law, Joy graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Philosophy. She spent her junior year of college studying at Harvard University.
