Paramedics were called to Ritter Elementary school at
around 12:30 Friday afternoon after twenty students complained of having upset
stomachs, nausea and chills.
Two students were transported to a local hospital and the
others were picked up by parents. Officials don't know what caused the
sickness. Battalion Chief, Michael Brown
says "The symptoms looked like food poisoning and most of the kids were
smiling by the time we left."
An investigation is underway into what caused the
students to get sick. The school is testing the lunch and the fire department
ruled out a possible gas leak but says everything is being taken under
consideration and is being investigated.
