Hyannis, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – One man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson fires in Hyannis earlier this year.
The fires happened in the early-morning hours of April 20, 2013. Police said they responded to three fires at seasonal homes on Pilgrim Lane as well as one fire on Baxter road.
Using fingerprints, police said they identified 27-year-old Matthew Pungitore, of West Yarmouth, as a suspect.
Pungitore was arrested on Sunday. He told police he was homeless, went into the homes to stay warm, turned on the ovens and sparked the fires. He was charged with four counts of arson and held on $50,000 bail.
