Jesse Dailey, 34, of Brooklyn, faces several charges including sex abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. In addition, Dailey is accused of injuring an NYPD detective who attempted to arrest him on Monday night.

The detective who suffered a shoulder injury during the incident tried to apprehend a man that fit the description of the groper. Cops say the man got away along 5th Ave. between 8th and 9th streets.

A person of interest was brought in for questioning by police on Wednesday. The NYPD announced an arrest on Thursday morning.

On Sept. 20, a 10-year-old girl and her 11-year-old female friend were walking along 5th Ave. when the suspect brushed up and rubbed against her before squeezing the buttocks of her friend, said police.

Two sketches of the suspect were released by the NYPD. He was described by police as a white male, 25-35 years old, 5'9- 5'11" tall with a slim build.
