A commercial for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball back in 2010 foreshadows the blockbuster deal that sent Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Ian Kinsler.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers introduced Prince Fielder Monday, five days after acquiring him in a blockbuster trade of All-Stars, with popular second baseman Ian Kinsler going to Detroit.

Fielder was only two seasons into the $214 million, nine-year contract he signed with Detroit before the 2012 season.

At the news conference, Fielder talked about the trade and his rough tenure with the Tigers that included a postseason stretch of 18 games without an RBI.

"Everybody was on me a little bit about my performance, but rightfully so," said Fielder. "I sucked, but I didn't have to be reminded of it. Hopefully, we can make some better memories here."

With his new team also comes a new jersey number. Fielder will wear No. 84 with the Rangers, not the No. 28 he had worn through his 1,322 career games with Milwaukee (2005-11) and Detroit (2012-13).

"It's a new start I guess, and 84 is the year I was born. It's just fresh," he said. "I think it works."

That also happens to be the last year the Tigers won the World Series.
