CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

A Macomb Co. man dressed in costume found himself in a web of deceit last week.

Chesterfield Township police say 20-year-old Christopher Chapman wore Spiderman gear (see right) during an armed robbery attempt in a Meijer parking on Nov. 22. Police say he approached two sisters, zipped up his Spider-man mask and told them hand over their Xbox One game system.

"Give me your game," he told the sisters, police said.

The sisters couldn't tell if Chapman was serious and he wound up running away empty-handed.

The police were notified and eventually arrested the Clinton Township resident.

He was charged with one count of armed robbery in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore, police said. He is being held in the Macomb County Jail.
