Racial harassment suit again security company

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - A security firm with New York City contracts is accused in a lawsuit of racial harassment.

The suit against MSA Security was filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court.

According to The New York Times, a former chief executive and another former company official have charged that MSA tolerated racial harassment of one the few African-American employees in the corporate office.

The suit claims the woman was subjected to years of racial taunts.

In a statement, the company's chairman, George Harvey, denied the allegations. He says MSA will "vigorously defend" itself.

MSA Security has contracts with numerous city agencies and institutions. They include the Department of Transportation and the New York Public Library.
