Dorchester mom still in critical condition

DORCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- People passing by the site on Olney Street in Dorchester where Brianna Rosales, 7, and her mother Glendalee Alvarado were hit Tuesday can't help but stop for a moment of silence or to leave flowers. The area where the accident happened has become a memorial for the young girl who lost her life too soon and her mother who is still in critical condition, according to the bostonglobe.com.

Olivia Mora, 36, who was reportedly driving the SUV that hit both Rosales and Alvarado, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of motor vehicle homicide and causing bodily injury while operating a motor vehicle under the influence. She was held without bail.

It only took a few days for the sidewalk to become a memorial site for the young girl. The area is now covered with flowers, stuffed animals, candles and a pink Christmas stocking, the Globe reported.

Police say that Mora hit a parked car and then her vehicle went up onto the sidewalk before it hit a fire hydrant and then Rosales and Alvarado. The SUV then crashed into a chain-link fence in front of a house.

Alvarado, 26, is still in critical condition at the Boston Medical Center, the Globe said.
