BOSTON (AP) - Emerson College in Boston has changed the name of its School of Communication for one day to honor fictitious television anchorman Ron Burgundy.

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell, who plays Burgundy, was at the school in character Wednesday for a naming ceremony and news conference. He tells students and faculty he was "literally in a glass case of emotion" over the honor, citing a line from the 2004 hit "Anchorman."

The renaming is one of several promotional events for "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," the sequel that opens this month.

Ferrell anchored a newscast as Burgundy in North Dakota over the weekend. Then he helped cover curling trials for a broadcaster in Canada.

A spokeswoman says Emerson received no money for the appearance. The idea came from Ferrell's publicist, an Emerson alum.
