Officials: Brockton High student arrested after handing over knife, brass knuckles

Posted: Updated:

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Administrators say a Brockton High School student handed over a knife and set of brass knuckles after he was called into the office Tuesday as part of an investigation involving School Police.

Brockton Public Schools spokesperson Jocelyn Meek tells FOX 25 the investigation began after another student told a parent the teen showed him a knife while they were walking home from school. The parent then called police and School Police took a police report.

School administrators were able to use a description of the student to find the person they believed was responsible for the incident. The student was called to the office by administrators and asked to empty his pockets, at which time he handed over the weapons.

According to Brockton police logs, an 18-year-old male was arrested at the high school just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds.

Meek says the teen has also been suspended from school and will face a disciplinary hearing before the principal.
