Boston police involved in crash while responding to shots fired

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Three undercover Boston police officers were involved in a car crash Wednesday night while responding to reports of shots fired in Roxbury.

The officers activated their lights and sirens as they responded to the report in the area of Elmore and Munroe streets in Roxbury at about 8:30 p.m. Officials say their cruiser was hit by another car at the intersection of Ashmont Street and Dorchester Avenue.

All three officers and two others were transported to local hospitals with what are considered non-life threatening injuries.

One person sustained non-life threatening injuries in the Roxbury shooting. Another person was taken into custody and a gun was recovered.
