Rev. Joseph Lowery reflects on Nelson Mandela's passing

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The Rev. Joseph Lowery said that everyone could learn from revered civil rights icon Nelson Mandela.

The former president of South Africa passed away on Thursday at the age of 95.

Lowery was instrumental in bringing Mandela to Atlanta in 1990 – shortly after Mandela's release from prison. He says he'd never met anyone like him before or since and insists there is a lesson we should all learn from the man who went from political prisoner to political hero, transforming an entire nation along the way.
