Dog prevents mail delivery in N.H. neighborhood

Posted: Updated:

CONCORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- One New Hampshire neighborhood will not be receiving holiday cards in their mailboxes this year because of what postal workers describe as an aggressive dog.

People on Cornell Street in Concord haven't received mail in more than a year after postal workers said the dog prevented them from doing their job. They claim the boxer/pit bull mix has rushed them several times.

Residents are forced to drive across town and pick up their mail at a warehouse.

Postal workers are now pushing for a delivery receptacle three blocks from the street so they don't have to go anywhere near the dog. Concerned residents are not satisfied with the idea, saying it's not fair. The dog's owner says she doesn't see the problem and that neighbors need to learn how to cope.

A city meeting is being planned to discuss the next steps.
