Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Jacoby Ellsbury is thankful for the time he spent in Boston.

The former Red Sox center fielder, turned New York Yankee, took a full-page ad out in Friday's Boston Globe thanking Red Sox fans for their support for his years in Boston.

"Two World Championships and seven years of great memories. To the fans of New England, teammates and the many friendships made. Thank you!" Ellsbury wrote.

Ellsbury was introduced as a Yankee Friday morning. He left the Red Sox after getting a seven-year, $153 million contract with New York.
