Former MGH employee accused of bilking $640K from the hospital
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A former Massachusetts General Hospital employee was indicted Thursday amid allegations that he stole more than $640,000 from the hospital.
Leonard Wasileski, 65, of Peabody, was indicted by a Suffolk County Grand Jury on three counts of larceny over $250. Wasileski worked as the machine shop manager and was an employee of the hospital for nearly 36 years.
Investigators allege Wasileski sold brass previously used in radiation as scrap metal, ordered tools and equipment through the hospital for personal use, and directed payments for invoices to his personal accounts.
Attorney General Martha Coakley's office began investigating Wasileski's alleged schemes in August 2013. He was later fired.
Wasileski will be arraigned on January 16 in Suffolk Superior Court.
