2 White Lake teachers now unemployed after inappropriate behavior in the classroom

(WJBK) -

Two teachers from White Lake Middle School are now unemployed after allegations of an inappropriate relationship. The teachers were initially put on administrative leave. Kim Root from the Huron Valley School District confirmed Thursday the two no longer work for the district.

Below is the initial report from Fox 2's Ron Savage, which you can also watch in the video player above.

"We placed the two teachers involved on administrative leave based on allegations of inappropriate behavior," says Root.

Two sources describe a romantic encounter in a vacant classroom at the school on Bogie Lake Road south of M 59. School administration says they have suspended a male and a female, both of whom are full-time staff teachers. But the school is not saying what the couple was doing.

"What I can tell you is that we acted based on information about inappropriate behavior in a classroom, and therefore we put those teachers on administrative leave," Root says.

The school has been investigating for six days. Wednesday evening, after Fox 2 inquired, the school emailed parents advising them of the two teacher suspensions.

Root says they are still conducting the investigation. "What I can tell you is that it is not complete but we are going to do a thorough investigation. Those teachers are on administrative leave and are not in the building at this time."

School administration hopes to wrap up the investigation by the end of the week.
